You can hear lots of chat about about Rama, but please remember. Rama was a Teacher. He was an incarnation of Love. His mission was to present the highest Buddhist (universal) wisdom in forms that contemporary seekers could understand. His mission was to present knowledge that was relevant and appropriate for our turbulent times. Here’s a sampling of books written by people who gained transformative life lessons from the teachings of Dr. Lenz.

American Zen : The Wisdom of an American Zenji is a gentle book about Rama - Dr. Frederick Lenz by Y. Ohta. Rama was a true Zen master who embodied the teachings of original Zen. In Ohta’s book, which she illustrated herself, she captures the wisdom, stillness, and humor of the American Zen master in a series of short, pithy chapters. It’s on Amazon in print and ebook.

Another fun read is Zen Entrepreneurship by Riz Virk. Substitute Rama for “Ramaswami.” Rama becomes a wise, mystical business coach as Riz, a best-selling author and technologist, develops his first multi-million dollar startup.

The Last Incarnation is a compelling set of stories written by Rama’s students in the mid-1980s. The stories are written from the heart and tell of magical encounters, movie outings, and learning lessons. This book is now available as an audio book as well as print and digital formats.

Check out The Art of Rama: Interviews with Direct Students of Rama by Marsha Pritchard. Pritchard spoke with six of Rama’s women students, each of whom presented a personal take on the brilliant change and transformation they experienced as a student.

Turiya - Jenna Sundell writes of her personal experiences with Rama in her book, Worlds of Power, Worlds of Light. She states, “These experiences that occurred in my early twenties changed my life.”

Zoe Nicholson shares a powerful journal of her time studying with Rama. The Passionate Heart is intimately written with brilliant story-telling.

Rama Speaks: The Teachings of Rama, Dr. Frederick Lenz by Lawrence Borok condenses Dr. Lenz’s audio lecture series into a single, knowledge-packed volume. This is an excellent overview.
